E-RESOURCES

"E-resources" is a term used to refer to electronic resources, which are digital or online materials that are accessible via computers, smartphones, or other digital devices. These resources encompass a wide range of digital content and information that can be accessed and utilized electronically. E-resources can be divided into several categories:

  1. Electronic Journals (E-Journals): These are digital versions of academic and professional journals. They include research articles, papers, and scholarly publications in various fields.

  2. Electronic Books (E-Books): E-books are digital versions of printed books that can be read on e-readers, tablets, or computers. They cover a broad spectrum of topics, including fiction, non-fiction, textbooks, and reference materials.

  3. Online Databases: These are collections of organized data and information, often searchable through specific platforms or websites.

  4. Digital Libraries: Digital libraries host a vast array of digital resources, including scanned books, manuscripts, historical documents, and multimedia content. These resources are often available for research and educational purposes.

  5. Multimedia Resources: E-resources also encompass audio and visual materials, such as online streaming services, educational videos, podcasts, and digital art collections.

  6. Educational Websites: Websites that offer educational content, including online courses, tutorials, educational games, and interactive learning modules.

  7. Research Repositories: Online repositories where researchers can share and access datasets, research papers, and other materials related to their work.

  8. E-Newspapers and E-Magazines: Digital versions of newspapers and magazines, which provide current news, articles, and features.

  9. Government Publications: Many government agencies provide e-resources such as reports, statistics, and official documents on their websites.

  10. Open Access Resources: These are e-resources that are freely available to the public, often funded by institutions, governments, or organizations to promote open sharing of knowledge.

E-resources have become increasingly important in the digital age due to their accessibility, ease of distribution, and ability to provide up-to-date information. They are widely used in education, research, business, entertainment, and many other fields. Our libraries often provide access to various e-resources to support learning, research of students and professional development of staffs.
